Klara Kolouchova, a celebrated Czech mountaineer and the first woman from her country to summit Mount Everest, K2, and Kangchenjunga, tragically di_ed while attempting to climb Nanga Parbat, Pakistan’s de_adly “Kil_ler Mountain.”
She fell between Camp One and Camp Two during the expedition.
A challenging search and recovery operation is underway due to the dange_rous terrain and altitude.
Kolouchova had previously summited five 8,000-meter peaks. Her dream of conquering Nanga Parbat, the world’s ninth-highest peak, remained unrealized.
Her passing follows the 2023 death of a Spanish climber at the same mountain.
