Microsoft is reportedly closing its operations in Pakistan after 25 years, sparking concern in the country’s tech and business communities.

Jawwad Rehman, Microsoft Pakistan’s founding Country Manager, confirmed the shutdown, calling it the end of an era and highlighting the company’s contributions to Pakistan’s digital growth.

The closure reflects broader challenges like economic instability and regulatory issues affecting foreign investment.

Globally, Microsoft is cutting over 9,000 jobs, including major layoffs in its gaming division and cancelling projects like Perfect Dark and Everwild to focus on strategic growth.
