As we celebrate our 74th Independence Day, I cannot but feel an overwhelming sense of pride towards our country. History is replete with heroic struggles of our ancestors who martyred themselves selflessly so that us, the future generations, could enjoy the fruits of an independent nation. I salute their supreme sacrifice and bow my head in reverence to them.
On this Independence Day greeting my countrymen who are proud Pakistanis just like me, I urge them to value what has been handed over to us on a platter, by doing good in deed and spirit so that our Parcham-e Sitara o Hilal and the name of Pakistan flies high.
I also thank all my fans for the unending love and adulation you have showered on me all these years. As an act of gratitude and also to commemorate our 74th I’Day, I have collaborated with the multi-talented Asim Jofa to bring something that would reiterate how blessed we are to be living in an independent country, to be Pakistanis.

Since we are aware that the entire world is going through unprecedented times due to Covid-19, I would also take this opportunity to request all Pakistanis to keep their indomitable spirit high and inspire each other to fight this pandemic without losing our vision of a better future. While we are inching towards normalcy as the lockdown restrictions are being lifted gradually, it would still be prudent to take all the necessary precautions instead of going all footloose and fancy free. Please be mindful of maintaining social distancing and avoid going in groups. Jaan hai toh Jahan Hai.
It is only a matter of time when things would take a turn for brighter tomorrow. As a wise man once said, This Too Shall Pass

I was happily singing “Dil Dil Pakistan” a few days back in Leeds, UK after Pakistan won the cricket match, didn’t even know today I’ll be passing my condolences to the lyricist of this beautiful song Nisar Nasik.
There was an era where, “Sohni Dharti” and “Jivey jivey Pakistan”, were the most sung songs, then came Dil Dil Pakistan which became one of the most popular national song to be sung on every occasion. Be it at the warfront or be it a stadium.
This song was released by the pop band Vital Signs in 1987. It’s said to be Pakistan’s second national anthem. Today we lost the person who penned the lyrics of this song- Nisar Nasik. My condolences to his family. Sir you will always be remembered in prayers. More so each time we will sing, “Dil Dil Pakistan.”🙏
