This document records a personal account of the Ashura procession and the tragic events that unfolded.

I took this photograph of the Ashura procession as it proceeded from Numaish toward its destination in Kharadar. The atmosphere was one of deep mourning and intense devotion.

My friend and I had been part of the procession, but we were forced to leave just before reaching the end. My friend had participated in Zanjeerzani and, having bled a great deal, was losing his strength and could no longer continue.

Shortly after we departed, a tragic bomb went off close to the procession's destination. This senseless act of violence claimed many lives, including the brother and sister-in-law (bhabi) of the renowned actor Sajid Hasan.

While the pain of that day remains fresh and the loss of life was devastating, we remind ourselves that our trials are nothing compared to the supreme sacrifice of Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his faithful companions at Karbala. Their stand for truth and justice remains the ultimate standard of devotion.
