A group of medical students from SPIE-Medtech and SIG visited SIUT (Sindh Institude
of Urology and Transplant) on 21st October.

They were warmly welcomed by the consultants there including Dr. Asad Shehzad and Dr. Haris H. Qureshi. Dr. HHQ himself gave a tour of the Simulation Lab and the Robotic surgery department at SIUT. The students were briefed about the minimally invasive robotic surgery techniques used in various urological surgical procedures. They also scrubbed in and observed a live robotic surgery in the OR.

Following that, the students discussed future collaboration possibilities between SPIE and SIUT opening a door of opportunities for AKU students.
