It is a huge loss for the region that esteemed humanitarian and champion for child welfare, Mr. Sher Baz Khan, have passed away in Gilgit city today. As the Chairman of Ceena Health and Welfare Services, he served as a guiding light for hundreds of orphaned, abandoned, disabled, and vulnerable children.
Mr. Khan dedicated his entire life to the noble cause of ensuring the well-being and happiness of children. Having experienced the loss of his own parents at a young age, he possessed a deep sense of compassion for those who similarly suffered. His unwavering commitment to this cause earned him widespread respect and admiration from all who knew him.
Today, thousands of people offer their heartfelt prayers for Mr. Khan, whose life was devoted to transforming the lives of those around him. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of countless individuals and will be remembered as a true humanitarian.
The funeral for Mr. Khan was held in Gilgit city, where he was laid to rest in a local cemetery. Though he may be gone, his legacy of love and service will continue to inspire future generations to make a positive impact on the world.

Gahkuch:
Northern Areas Transport Corporation (NATCO) has expanded its transportation services by launching a new bus service from Gahkuch to Mastuj Chitral, following the existing route from Gilgit. The inaugural ceremony was held on Saturday, with the first passenger bus departing for Chitral.
Previously, NATCO was operating a single bus service from Gilgit to Chitral-Mastuj. However, given the movement of people between Chitral and Ghizer, including Gilgit, NATCO has taken the proactive step of extending their services. It should be noted that in addition to NATCO's buses, private transport services have been running in the region for quite some time.
This latest initiative by NATCO is expected to have a positive impact on tourism in both Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, which are known for their natural beauty and cultural diversity. The region's road infrastructure has been a challenge for commuters, and this new service is likely to bring much-needed relief to locals and tourists alike.

Dr. Mujtaba Khalil, a young researcher and son of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed, former Vice Chancellor of Karakoram International University (KIU), hailing from Punial Galapur, has been awarded a research fellowship and has joined Ohio University in the United States for further studies. Dr. Khalil completed his A Levels from Aitchison College Lahore, and subsequently pursued his MBBS degree from the prestigious Aga Khan University in Karachi. During his time at the university, he displayed an exceptional aptitude for research and was awarded the title of "Researcher of the Year" at AKU.
Currently, Dr. Khalil is undertaking a research program and residency at Ohio University, where he will continue his academic pursuits. He has expressed his desire to return to his home country, Pakistan, after completing his studies and practice medicine there.
