Bots at Work

Your SEO agency optimized your website. That's the problem.
I'll say what they won't: optimizing your own site for "best [your service]" searches is increasingly a waste — because the first page barely shows websites anymore.
I pulled 3 searches this week — restaurants, derma, aesthetic clinics. Same pattern:
→ Top results were Reddit, Yelp, TripAdvisor, TikTok, "best of" lists
→ Businesses' own sites were buried or missing
→ One already had an AI Overview answering before any click
AI answers using what OTHER sites say about you — not your homepage.
The game moved from "rank my website" to "get cited everywhere the answer comes from." Most agencies haven't caught up.

The AI search shift isn't coming to the Philippines. I checked this morning — it's already here.
I searched "best aesthetic clinic Makati" today. Two things stopped me:
1. Google showed an AI Overview at the very top — an AI-written answer before any clinic got a click. Live in PH, right now.
2. The #1 result was a 2-year-old Reddit thread. The biggest aesthetic brand in the country? Position 8. Below Reddit. Below Yelp.
ChatGPT alone now does 45.5 MILLION searches a month — pulling from these same sources.
Brand size no longer decides who gets found. Citation does.
Search "best [your service] [your city]" right now. Is there an AI Overview at the top? Where do you rank? Tell me what you see 👇

Soon, most of your bookings will happen before your team even wakes up.
That's not a prediction. It's already happening.
Today: guests research at midnight, message on their phones, expect an answer NOW. Businesses still reply on office hours. That gap is where bookings die.
Where it's going: a system greets every guest the second they message — qualifies, answers questions, books the slot. At 2 AM, on a holiday, during the rush. Your team wakes up to a full calendar.
A resort client's bookings climbed every month — 74 in Feb to 101 in April — once their bot carried the after-hours load. Same marketing. Same rooms.
Speed becomes the product.

A chatbot that just answers FAQs is a search bar with extra steps.
I'll say what most AI vendors won't: most chatbots businesses bought last year were built to deflect, not convert. That's why they felt like wasted money.
A deflection bot: "We're open till 9 PM." Done. Customer leaves.
A conversion bot: "We're open till 9 PM — want me to reserve a table for 2 at 7?"
One closes tickets. The other closes business.
I watched a conversion bot take a 70-person event from first message to confirmed booking — no manager, no callback.
If your chatbot isn't booking or following up, you didn't buy automation. You bought an expensive contact form.
