Severe Winds
The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction.

โ€ข Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1.

The highest Wind Signal that may be hoisted throughout the passage of INDAY is Wind Signal No. 2.

The enhanced Southwest Monsoon and the periphery of Typhoon INDAY will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):

โ€ข Today until Saturday (11 July): Most of the country.

HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
A Gale Warning is in effect over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, and the eastern seaboard of Visayas. For more details, refer to Gale Warning No. 3 issued at 5:00 AM today.
Link: tinyurl.com/gale-warning

24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to very rough seas over the following coastal waters:
โ€ข Up to 6.0 m: The seaboards of Batanes; the northern and eastern seaboards of Babuyan Islands; the northeastern seaboard of mainland Cagayan.
โ€ข Up to 5.0 m: The remaining seaboards of mainland Cagayan and Babuyan Islands; the seaboard of Isabela.
โ€ข Up to 4.5 m: The seaboards of Aurora and Camarines Norte; the northern seaboard of Camarines Sur; the northern and eastern seaboards of Polillo Islands and Catanduanes; the eastern seaboard of Northern Samar; the northeastern seaboard of Eastern Samar.
โ€ข Sea travel is risky for all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside.

Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
โ€ข Up to 4.0 m: The northern seaboards of mainland Quezon and Northern Samar; the eastern seaboards of Albay, Sorsogon, Dinagat Islands, Bucas Grande-Siargao Islands, and Davao Oriental; the remaining eastern seaboard of Eastern Samar.
โ€ข Up to 3.5 m: The eastern seaboard of Surigao del Sur; the southern seaboard of Davao Oriental.
โ€ข Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels.

Up to moderate to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
โ€ข Up to 2.5 m: The northern seaboard of Ilocos Norte; the northwestern seaboard of mainland Masbate; the seaboards of Kalayaan Islands, Southern Leyte, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, and Camiguin; the southeastern seaboard of Leyte and Davao Occidental; the southern seaboard of Bohol, Samar, and Sarangani; the remaining seaboards of Bucas-Grande Islands, Eastern Samar, and Dinagat Islands.
โ€ข Up to 2.0 m: The seaboard of Zambales; the western seaboards of Bataan and Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island; the southern seaboard of Panay Island; the northern seaboards of Zamboanga del Norte and Misamis Occidental; the remaining seaboards of Quezon, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Romblon, and mainland Palawan; the seaboards of Cagayancillo Islands and Cuyo Islands.
โ€ข Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.

Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m.

TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
โ€ข It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to โ€œOther Hazards affecting Land Areasโ€ for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
โ€ข INDAY is forecast to move northwestward while remaining over the Philippine Sea and may pass closest to Extreme Northern Luzon between tomorrow (10 July) evening and Saturday (11 July) morning. Afterwards, INDAY will move toward the southern islands of Japan and may make landfall or pass close over the northern coast of Taiwan. It will then exit the PAR by Saturday (11 July) and make landfall over the eastern coast of mainland China by Sunday (12 July).
โ€ข INDAY is forecast to gradually weaken but will remain as a typhoon until it exits the PAR. It will then weaken into a severe tropical storm after moving further inland over mainland China. As INDAY moves over the sea east of Taiwan, a faster weakening trend is not ruled out due to increasingly unfavorable environment.

Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.

The next tropical cyclone bulletin will be issued at 11:00 AM today.
