TDTCO would like to congratulate the 2019 SALIKSIKLABAN STEM category winners who won in he Student Creative Research category in the recently concluded Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Invention Contest and Exhibit (RICE) held on November 18- 21, 2019 at CLSU, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
The winners are qualified for the National Invention Contest and Exhibit (NICE) in 2020.
NEWS: Tarlac State University (TSU) emerged champion during the 2019 Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits held at Central Luzon State University, Science City of Munoz, Nueva Ecija, November 18-21.
Pauline Grace Manzano, Arnel Jude Calma, Gemmark Sicat, Kristel Miranda and Kaiser Aguilar, who are from the Civil Engineering Department, were accompanied by Engr. Yoshio Otsuka, their thesis adviser, with their research: “Development and Fabrication of a Digital Apparatus for Sieve Analysis and Soil Classifications.”
After their success in the regional level, TSU will represent region 3 in the National Invention Contest and Exhibits.

TSU Students Showcase Various Researches at SALIKSIKLABAN 2019
The Technology Development, Transfer and Commercialization Office (TDTCO) in collaboration with the University Research Office (URO), Gender and Development Office (GADO) and the Supreme Student Council (SSC) recently held the 2nd SALIKSIKLABAN 2019 on May 16 & 17, 2019 at the Academic Building, TSU Lucinda Campus.
The SALIKSIKLABAN is a competition which provides a venue to showcase outstanding researches of each colleges in Tarlac State University. This activity rewards the best student researchers and motivate other students to pursue quality researches in the years to come. It is designed to boost creativity and innovation; likewise, to stir student interest in science, engineering and technology.
The opening ceremony was graced by the VP for Research and Extension Dr. Armee N. Rosel, TDTCO Director Engr. Emir SF Sicangco, GAD Director Dr. Rita Pulmano and the panel of evaluators for the ABLESS category namely Dr. Stephenie O. Busbus, a professor at Saint Louis University, Dr. Teodora M. Sulabayba, a professor at University of the Philippines Diliman and Mr. Jomel Anthony V. Gutierrez, Director III at Public- Private Partnership Center of the Philippines.
Also joining the SALIKSIKLABAN during the closing ceremony were OIC VP PQA, concurrent Director for UESO Prof. Redemptor G. Toledano, GAD Director Dr. Rita Pulmano, RERC Head Dr. Lucilla O. Sunga and the panel of evaluators for the STEM category namely Dr. Adrian Bon B. Santiago Coordinator for Research at Our Lady of Fatima University, Ms. Consuelo Tessa M. Sibal, thr Director for PPFD- NEDA and Engr. Romeolito G. Tacbian Senior, the Research Specialist at Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory DOST.
Out of 31 entries, three winners were chosen for each category. Certificates were presented to each winner, as well as the first, second, third place and best poster awards (PHP 20,000, PHP 15,000, PHP 10,000 and PHP 2,000) for STEM category, PHP 15, 000, PHP 10,000, PHP 7,000 and PHP 2,000) for ABLESS category, respectively) during the closing ceremony.
The awardees were selected based on contribution to national/ community development, sustainability, quality of paper and poster presentation.
