The Cavite State University โ Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (CvSU-ATBI) proudly participated in the 5-day DISENYO (Designing Interventions to Strengthen ENterprises and Yield Opportunities) Workshop organized by the Design Center of the Philippines in partnership with DOST โ Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development.
Representing CvSU-ATBI, Rhuzel Leinster Dean J. Julian, Project Technical Assistant IV, actively engaged in immersive sessions covering product-market fit, value proposition development, marketing, branding, and circular economy models to strengthen our commercialization strategies.
The workshop was co-designed and led by Ms. Maria Leah Peachy Pacquing, she discussed with valuable insights from distinguished speakers:
โข Pia Roxas Campo of Pure Oceans on Marketing and Branding
โข Rafael Dionisio of MAD Travel on Circular Economy and Sustainability
โข Zedrik Avecilla of PARMS on the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Law
The program was formally welcomed by Rhea O. Matute and Lucy A. Lastimosa, highlighting the strong collaboration between DCP and DOST-PCAARRD in enhancing ATBI competitiveness nationwide.
As part of the applied learning component, CvSU-ATBI featured Pintaya: Dragon Fruit Dye as its case study technology. Through guided interviews and collaborative sessions, insights were gathered from lead inventor Engr. Arnel Feraer, incubatee Ms. Maureen Martillano, and collaborator Ms. Bridgette Dolor of the BRITE Center. These inputs will help refine Pintayaโs market positioning, strengthen its value proposition, and integrate sustainability principles into its product development and branding strategy.
The five-day workshop concluded with a facility tour at the Likhang Filipino Exhibition Halls, home to the DTI - Design Center of the Philippines, the re:Source Center, and a six-gallery showroom showcasing outstanding Filipino designs and productsโan inspiring reminder of how thoughtful design elevates local enterprises to global standards.
The DISENYO journey continues. Learning applications will also be extended to Biomass Pellets, alongside scheduled interviews and site visits with the Design Center of the Philippines. Echo-sessions will likewise be conducted to cascade insights and tools to our incubatees and innovatorsโensuring that design thinking and circular economy principles are embedded across our technology portfolio.
