What is the difference of scent from trained odor?
Scents:
Scents is used to describe all other "smell" other than the trained odor.
For example, a hamburger possesses and gives off food" scents"
Trained odor:
Any odor that canines are behaviorally trained to locate. For example, an explosive detection dog is trained to locate several explosives "odors".
We train Ego by using different toys and foods scents as distractions. In this video, he did not touch the ball or eat the foods presented. Also, no training aids were used but Ego did not false indicate which shows that he knows how to distinguish the trained odor from different kinds of scents. 💪
