For Neethu Krishna Kumar, transitioning from an engineering and technology background into consulting required a significant mindset shift. From being the subject matter expert to navigating diverse business challenges while balancing multiple client priorities, she learnt that success depends not only on technical expertise, but also on adaptability, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly.

As she progressed in her consulting career, Neethu discovered that professional fulfilment does not come from having all the answers, but from embracing uncertainty, building strong relationships, and learning from those around her. She also continuously invests in her own development, earning her Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification - fully funded by Deloitte while balancing client commitments to strengthen her project management capabilities and complement her consulting experience.

Over time, she also learnt the importance of trusting her own voice. Impact does not come from being the loudest in the room or knowing everything in advance, but from bringing thoughtful perspectives, asking meaningful questions, and contributing authentically to every conversation.

Neethu’s advice to women considering a transition into consulting is simple: less time should be spent focusing on what is not known, and more time recognising the value of existing strengths. Previous experiences remain among one’s greatest strengths.
