4th VIRTUAL LESSON:
π USING POLITE WORDS IN CONVERSATION π
Politeness helps us to deal with other people easily and smoothly. It helps us get on with strangers in a crowded place (like in the underground) and it helps us get what we want (say βPleaseβ and your transactions get easier). Politeness is something we learn as children, and we expect to see it in other people, too.
It is important to be polite because it puts other people at ease and helps build strong relationships. Politeness also helps decrease the social distance between two people, making it easier to communicate.
Additionally, what are the polite expressions? Words that are polite include "Please," "Thank you," and "Excuse me." "Excuse me" is what I say when I would like the attention of another person. I can use my words to say, "Excuse me" when I want to talk to another person. When I use "Excuse me" I wait for the other person to look at me, move, or speak to me.
Besides, why do we use polite speech?
Polite speech is usually used during first impressions one is meeting someone. This is because one wants to seem polite and sophisticated when meeting someone. Polite speech is constantly used to make a good first impression at first when one meets new people.
