ππ’π’π: Personnel of Coast Guard Station Romblon and Coast Guard Sub-Station Romblon conducted beach patrol operations in various coastal areas and resorts within the Municipality of Romblon today, 29 May 2026.
During the patrol, the team observed the presence of dragon thimble jellyfish along certain shorelines that may cause skin irritation and rashes upon contact. In response, PCG personnel immediately coordinated with resort operators and coastal residents to raise public awareness and promote safety precautions.
The public is advised to avoid swimming in affected areas until the presence of the jellyfish subsides.

ππππ:Demonstrating its commitment to ensuring maritime safety and strengthening community engagement, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Odiongan, in coordination with Coast Guard Mobile Post (CGMP) Ferrol, conducted a mobile registration activity for the Safety, Security and Environmental Numbering (SSEN) System at Brgy. Poblacion, Ferrol, Romblon on 21 May 2026.
The activity aimed to facilitate the registration of local boat owners and operators while increasing awareness of the importance and benefits of the SSEN System in promoting maritime safety, security monitoring, and environmental protection.
This initiative was conducted under the Philippine Coast Guardβs ICARE Program (Intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response and Enforcement), which aims to strengthen public awareness and encourage community participation in ensuring a safer maritime environment.

ππππ: The Philippine Coast Guard, through Coast Guard Station Romblon, together with concerned government agencies, successfully ensured the safe arrival, conduct of boarding formalities, and orderly departure of the international cruise ship M/S SH Minerva on 07 May 2026.
The coordinated efforts of the Philippine Coast Guard and partner agencies ensured the efficient processing of passengers and crew while maintaining maritime safety, port security, and compliance with international maritime protocols throughout the vesselβs port call in Romblon Province.
Passengers were also given the opportunity to explore the provinceβs tourist attractions, including the world-renowned Bonbon Beach, known for its crystal-clear waters and scenic beauty.
The successful visit of M/S SH Minerva further highlights Romblonβs growing recognition as an emerging cruise tourism destination in the country.
