The College of Criminal Justice Education successfully conducted the BAGWIS Program (Bayan ay Ating Gabayan ng Wastong Impormasyon at Solusyon) in Barangay Gumarueng, Piat, Cagayan. Topics such as the Barangay Justice System, Business Correspondence, Fire Safety Awareness, and Barangay Forms were discussed to empower and equip barangay officials in their duties.

With the active participation of Barangay Captain Odilon Lloyd M. Gundan and his officials, meaningful discussions and relevant questions were raised, reflecting their dedication to improving their roles as public servants. This collaboration is a step toward fostering effective governance and community development.

The Cagayan State University Piat Campus conducted the Capacity-Building on the Technical & Entrepreneurial Skills of Farmers & Fisherfolks Thru Convergence on April 12, 2024 at the College of Agriculture. The program aims to capacitate the members of the Mabuhay Agri-Crop Multipurpose Cooperative as well as select BS Agriculture students.

The program commenced with the opening remarks by Dr. Michael M. Uy, Dean of the College of Agriculture. Then, a message from the CSU Piat Campus Executive Officer, Dr. Hi**er C. Dangatan represented by Mr. Warlito Biraquit, is shared to the participants. Regeant Loreto Pacay, Manager of the Coop discussed the overview of the seminar alongside Dr. Herbert C. Imatong, Ph.D., faculty member of the College of Agriculture.

The whole-day affair revolved on the introduction and the discussion on salient points on the Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation (F2C2) Program of the Department of Agriculture as discussed by Mr. Marvin Ramirez, Agriculturist II of the LGU Piat who also serves as the F2C2 focal person. Furthermore, the role of the DA Region II in the implementation and monitoring of the program was discussed in the program.

Ms. Karen Joy Abalos, CA faculty, discussed the entrepreneurial skills, including topics on the profit loss statement, cash flow budgeting, return on investment, and financial ratios.

Hands-on write-shop of the Cluster Development Plan was conducted by the participants as facilitated by Mr. Ramirez together with the faculty of the College of Agriculture.

Prior to the end of the program, some members of the Coop provided insights regarding the program. Moreover, Mr. Ricardo B. Casauay, Ph.D., also share some of his impressions with the conduct of the seminar.

The program ended with the awarding of certificates to the participating members of the event.

The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) and BAGWIS-LAHI College Student Council recently spearheaded a seminar focused on enhancing literacy in business correspondence among barangay officials, secretaries, and students within the community of San Jose, Baggao, Cagayan with Mr. Florante G. Tagudan Jr., faculty member of CCJE, as lecturer.

With the aim of bolstering professional communication skills, the seminar delved into various aspects of effective business writing, including proper formatting, tone, and etiquette.

Participants were equipped with practical knowledge on crafting clear, concise, and professional correspondence, essential for effective communication in both public and private sectors.

Through interactive sessions, role-playing activities, and real-world examples, attendees gained valuable insights into the nuances of business communication, fostering confidence and proficiency in written correspondence.

By empowering individuals at all levels of the community with the tools and skills needed to excel in business writing, CCJE is paving the way for enhanced communication and collaboration, ultimately driving positive outcomes for the community as a whole.

The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) in collaboration with BAGWIS-LAHI College Student Council is taking proactive steps to enhance earthquake readiness within local communities. Earlier today, CCJE organized a seminar on earthquake drills, bringing together barangay officials and students from San Jose and St. Joseph’s College of Baggao, respectively. The seminar aimed to educate participants on essential earthquake safety protocols, including "Drop, Cover, and Hold On," evacuation procedures, and emergency communication strategies. Through interactive workshops and hands-on simulations, attendees gained practical skills and knowledge to effectively respond to earthquakes and mitigate potential risks with Victor V. Martinez, PhD, invited lecturer and faculty member of CCJE. By empowering both barangay officials and students with the tools and awareness needed to navigate seismic events safely, CCJE is fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience at the grassroots level.

The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) in collaboration with BAGWIS-LAHI College Student Council conducted an extension activity titled β€œFirst Responders Action Program: Fire Safety Awareness,” among the barangay officials and some residents of San Jose and criminology students of St. Joseph’s College of Baggao, today at San Jose Barangay Hall, Baggao, Cagayan. Jim E. Eusebio, MSCrim, faculty member of CCJE and invited lecturer, shared knowledge and insights, weaving together personal anecdotes, statistics, and practical tips as regards fire safety.
