𝗛𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧: 𝗔 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗛 🌳🍒
📍 Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park, Burauen & Lapaz, Leyte 🇵🇭

On our way to 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 inside Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park (Lapaz side), we spotted clusters of striking 𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀 hanging from a tree—this is the 𝗛𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 (𝗙𝗶𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗵𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗲), a wild fig 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀. 🌿

🔹 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Fruits, leaves, roots, and stems are edible—though usually boiled before consumption.
🔹 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁: Commonly found along streams, serving as a natural water source in forested areas.
🔹 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Recognizable by its 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀. 🍒

A true reminder of how rich and diverse our local forests are—𝗛𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 is not just a plant, but part of the natural heritage of Leyte. 🌱✨
