EARTHQUAKE ADVISORY ⚠️

Following the suspension of classes today, July 15, 2026, Maguid Elementary School urges all students, staff, and families to prioritize safety by reviewing and practicing standard earthquake preparedness protocols.
Please remember the three essential steps of Duck, Cover, and Hold:
📌 STEP 1: DUCK – Drop immediately to the ground and crouch low.
📌 STEP 2: COVER – Take shelter under a sturdy piece of furniture (like a table or desk) to protect your head and neck.
📌STEP 3: HOLD – Hold on tightly to the leg of your shelter until the shaking stops.

Safety Precautionary Measures to Take at Home.
To ensure your family is prepared for any emergency, please implement the following safety measures:

✅ Create an Emergency Plan: Establish a clear communication and evacuation plan with your household.
✅ Prepare a Go-Bag: Keep an emergency kit packed with essential supplies, water, non-perishable food, and first-aid items.
✅ Identify Safe Spots: Find secure areas in your home, such as near interior walls, and stay clear of windows and glass.
✅ Secure Heavy Furniture: Anchor and strap down heavy furniture and appliances to prevent them from tipping over.
