REN KI : A Kitchen Renovation Project
Sta. Cruz, Laguna
The Japandi architectural style elegantly blends the serene simplicity of Japanese design with the functionality of Scandinavian aesthetics, creating a tranquil and visually pleasing kitchen environment.
For this project, we carefully considered various factors when selecting materials for the kitchen cabinets, such as cost, durability, and overall aesthetic. The clients opted to transition from the existing aluminum cabinets to a minimalist wood finish, ultimately choosing laminated marine plywood.
The cabinetry features clean lines that harmonize with the quartz countertops, enhancing the warm wood tones. Vertical wooden slats near the bar area introduce a subtle partition, adding visual interest while maintaining an open, spacious feel. Windows flood the kitchen with natural light, creating a bright, airy atmosphere, while black fixtures and accents provide a modern contrast.
This design achieves a perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics, making the kitchen not only a practical workspace but also an inviting space for social gatherings.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Garrido family for entrusting us with the privilege of managing this project.
