Last May 26–27, 2026, our Cohort 1 incubatee, BSK ng Calintaan, participated in the Diskwento Caravan through the market entry support initiative of the Office of the Technology Business Incubation and Development (TBID), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

The activity provided an opportunity for the incubatee to showcase and promote its products to a wider market, strengthen customer engagement, and gain valuable exposure through a community-based entrepreneurial platform. This initiative also serves as part of the continuous support mechanisms provided to startups in enhancing their market presence and business growth.

Through collaborations such as these, TBID continues to empower local startups and enterprises toward innovation, sustainability, and commercialization success.

The Office of the Technology Business Incubation and Development joins the nation in celebrating National Fisherfolks Day this May 31, 2026, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 261, s. 2000, recognizing the vital contributions of Filipino fisherfolk to food security, coastal conservation, and the national economy.

OMEGA TechTalks Season 3 Episode 10, “When Startups Fail: Lessons from Setbacks,” explored how challenges and failures can become opportunities for growth, resilience, and innovation.

The session highlighted that setbacks are part of the entrepreneurial journey—and that learning from them helps startups become stronger and more sustainable.

Last May 11, 2026, another monitoring activity for the 2nd Quarter was successfully conducted for incubatees under the Office of the Technology Business Incubation and Development.

Mr. Adrian G. Decena, Portfolio Management Coordinator, led the quarterly performance monitoring, while Dr. Airotciv Ivy Blaise M. Reyes, Startup Community Development Coordinator, discussed marketing performance during market entry support activities. In addition, Mr. Adrian Paul N. Abella, Technology Management Coordinator, facilitated the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) assessments of incubated technologies.

This initiative ensures that startups remain guided, assessed, and supported as they continue progressing toward innovation, commercialization, and sustainable growth.

Today, May 28, 2026, startup mentors and innovation advocates participated in Day 1 of the 2026 Startup Mentors Enablement (SME) Webinar Series organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) – ICT Industry Development Bureau (IIDB).

The webinar highlighted practical mentoring approaches, startup ecosystem insights, and strategies aimed at strengthening support for aspiring founders and early-stage startups. Participants also gained valuable perspectives on innovation, emerging technologies, startup validation, and building sustainable startup communities.

The activity serves as an important platform in empowering mentors who will help shape the next generation of Filipino startup founders and innovators.
