๐ณ๏ธ Black holes ๐ณ๏ธ
The existence of black holes was originally discovered by a mathematician. But they had no idea what it was just that the formula behind black holes was a true mathematical anomaly. ๐คฏ
For this reason, black holes easily belong on our list of examples of mathematics in nature. Only quantum theory would give us a more deep understanding of black holes. Stephen Hawking was able to learn that they do emit radiation in the 1970s. Despite the original theory that literally nothing can escape black holes, it is now thought that some information can escape. And since 2014, it is thought that a tiny amount of light is able to escape also. It is thought that there is a black hole in the centre of every galaxy. For a black hole to be created, mass have to be compressed enough for it to collapse into itself. There is a mathematical formula for this - planet Earth would become a black hole if compressed to the size of a walnut. It truly is one of the more awe inspiring examples of mathematics in nature.

THE BIG MISTAKE ๐ฏ
By 1873 Shanks had calculated Pi to a whopping 707 decimal places. This remained unchallenged until 1944 when D F Ferguson found that Shanks had made a mistake in calculating two of his terms, meaning that his calculation for Pi was only correct for the first 527 digits. Fortunately, Shanks didnโt find out in his lifetime about his mistake, and he has still gone down in history as one of the greatest Pi hunters who has ever lived. In some ways, Shanksโ big mistake has only added to his fame. ๐ซก๐

Euler's identity,"๐^๐ข๐
+ ๐ = ๐" stands as a captivating testament to the interconnectedness of fundamental mathematical constants, it comprises the five most important mathematical constants. This concise formula effortlessly weaves together Euler's number e, the imaginary unit i, and the ubiquitous pi. It symbolizes the elegant harmony between exponential growth, complex numbers, and the circular geometry embodied in pi. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, Euler's identity serves as a unifying thread across diverse mathematical realms, illustrating the profound and unexpected relationships that underlie seemingly distinct mathematical concepts.
