Due to the suspension of certain mail services to the United States, the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines advises beneficiaries who received the Annual Report Form (SSA-7161 or SSA-7162) to send the completed form to the Social Security Administration’s Federal Benefits Unit (FBU) in Manila via the mailing address:

Here’s everything you need to know about converting your foreign license to a local one 👇

✅ 𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞:

You can drive in the Philippines for up to 90 days from your arrival if:
• Your license is in English, OR
• You have an International Driving Permit (IDP), OR
• You have an official English translation from your embassy/consulate.

If your license isn’t in English and you don’t have an IDP, get an official translation before driving from your embassy/consulate

✅ 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝟗𝟎 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬?
You’ll need to convert your license to a Philippine driver’s license at the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐓𝐎:
📌 Application for Permits and Licenses (APL) Form
📌 Medical Certificate (Original + Photocopy) – usually available at clinics near LTO
📌 Your Driver’s License (Original + Photocopy)
📌 Official English translation (if your license is not in English)
📌 Passport (Original + photocopy of first page, visa page, and latest arrival stamp)

⚠️ Note: If your home country drives on the left-hand side of the road, you’ll need to pass a practical driving test.

⚠️Are you planning on leaving the Philippines and have been here longer than 6 months on a tourist visa (9a-Temporary Visitor Visa)? MUST READ BELOW⚠️

If you have been here on a tourist visa 9(a) for longer than 6 months you MUST secure an Emigration Clearance Certificate (ECC) aka Exit Clearance before leaving the Philippines.
