The Taj Mahal, remains one of the finest examples of Parchinkari work in India. Otherwise known as Pietre dura, it is an intricate decorative stone artwork which was done by encrusting stones on abraded marble plates.

The technique was valued for its a capacity to blend immensely expensive gemstones and other other materials creatively to produce stunning pieces of artwork.
