Observo
๐จโ๐Open inquiries, in principle, are wonderful for starting a conversation because there are so many possible responses. In practice, inquiries that begin with "why" or "how" are generally more effective at starting a conversation than questions that begin with "where" or "when".
๐จโ๐When you want to communicate your opinion in a way that demonstrates you wish to involve the other person, negative questions are effective. They can be used to transform an obvious remark into a conversation, to make an opinion seem less forthright, and to double-check a fact you're not sure about, as these examples indicate.
๐จโ๐Question tags turn a statement into a question in the same manner as negative questions do. These are frequently employed to double-check anything we're not sure about, as in an example with rising (questioning) intonation, or simply to urge the other person to respond to your perspective, as in a sentence, with falling intonation.
