Obesity Prevention Awareness Week, an annual event in the Philippines, takes place every first week of September. This nationwide observance is a vital effort to shine a light on the serious health risks associated with obesity and to inspire Filipinos to embrace healthier lifestyles. It’s more than just an awareness campaign; it’s a compassionate call to action to address the country's rising number of overweight and obese individuals. This important initiative was officially established by Presidential Proclamation No. 162 in 1999.
