A Call for Compassion: Letโs Help the 4-Hers of Bogo ๐
The 4-H Club National Federation extends its deepest concern and solidarity to the people of Bogo City, Cebu, especially to our fellow 4-Hers whose lives have been upended by the recent 6.9 magnitude earthquake.
Bogo Cityโthe epicenter of this devastating disasterโis not only a community but home to active 4-H Club in the Region 7. For years, the Bogo 4-H Club has proudly represented Region 7 in National 4-H Conventions, bringing home numerous awards and honors. Their dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the values of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health have inspired us all. Today, they need us.
Homes have crumbled. Families have been displaced. Aftershocks continue to shake their already fragile sense of safety. But amid the ruins, our fellow 4-Hers are still standingโnot to ask for help, but to serve others through a relief initiative led by: โA Viscan Hand.โ

We invite our students, alumni, staff, and the entire Viscan community to come together in this effort. Your contributionsโwhether financial or in-kindโwill provide relief, comfort, and hope to families and communities in need.
Once we have collected sufficient supplies, we will dispatch them directly to the affected community.
Let us also continue to pray for those impacted. The aftershocks remain powerful, and many families are mourning, anxious, and in need of solace.
May we be the hands that serve, the hearts that pray, and the voices that uplift.

โSome see farming as old-fashioned. As 4-H members, we know it's our future, and we are here to change that narrative!โ These powerful words from Hon. Ricmel S. Falqueza, Board Member of the 2nd District of Romblon, owner of RUF Dream Farm, and former President of the 4-H Club of the Philippines, perfectly captured the essence of 4-H Talk 3: Harvesting Potential: Empowering the Next Generation of Agricultural Leaders. With clarity and conviction, Hon. Falqueza challenged outdated mindsets about agriculture, placing young people at the heart of the sectorโs transformation.
In his talk, he emphasized that agriculture today is no longer just about planting and harvesting โ itโs about innovation, sustainability, agripreneurship, and leadership. Drawing from his own journey from 4-H member to public servant and successful farm owner, Hon. Falqueza inspired the youth to see farming as a platform for nation-building, economic empowerment, and global relevance. His own RUF Dream Farm stands as a living testament that with vision and dedication, agriculture can be both a livelihood and a legacy.
Hon. Falquezaโs message rings clear: the next generation holds the key to unlocking agricultureโs full potential. By investing in youth leadership, modern farm practices, and inclusive opportunities, we can rebrand farming as a future-forward industry. Through 4-H, young leaders are not just preparing to inherit the land โ they are preparing to lead it.

โI am a farmer. I was able to bring my family to travel internationally, not for work but for a vacation.โ With these simple yet powerful words, Mr. Alex O. Aborita, owner of Villaconzoilo Farm and proud member of the Farmers' Voyage Learning Program (FVLP) and YFFLTPJ Batch 1997 alumnus, redefined what it means to pursue a life in agriculture. Speaking during 4-H Talk: Family Farm Story: Turning Passion into Business, Mr. Aborita shared how his deep passion for farming transformed not only his livelihood but the life of his entire family.
Far from the traditional image of hardship often associated with farming, Mr. Aborita painted a picture of growth, fulfillment, and success. His journey from humble beginnings to becoming a well-known agri-entrepreneur serves as an inspiration to many aspiring farmers. Through dedication, innovation, and family support, he turned Villaconzoilo Farm into a thriving agritourism destination โ proving that farming can be both profitable and deeply rewarding.
Mr. Aboritaโs story is a testament to the power of purpose-driven agriculture. It shows that when farming is approached not just as labor but as a business built on passion, it can lead to financial stability, global opportunities, and priceless family memories. His message to the youth is clear: embrace farming with heart and vision โ and it will take you far, perhaps even beyond borders.
