The DILG Albay Provincial Office, through its Cluster II Operations Office, remains steadfast in its mission to empower LGUs, strengthen intergovernmental collaboration, and enhance governance excellence through the successful conduct of the Collaboration Activity with the Local Government Units of Polangui and Libon held last March 19, 2026.

Key discussions covered a comparative review of last year’s performance assessments, including CFLGA, LCPC Assessment, LCAT-VAWC Functionality Assessment, POC Performance Audit, and ADAC Functionality Assessment. Updates on the status of LGU-mandated plans and Local Government Support Fund–Support to the Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) Projects were also discussed during the activity. These insights will help the LGUs assess progress, identify gaps, and strengthen its preparations for the upcoming assessments.

The activity provided valuable insights into LGU’s governance performance, enabling the LGU to identify strengths, address areas for improvement, and reinforce strategies for sustainable development. The discussions emphasized the importance of transparent leadership, strong local policies, and effective public service delivery to achieve lasting progress.

This initiative is designed to support LGUs in improving their governance performance across various sectors. With a strong focus on capacity-building, technical guidance, and knowledge-sharing, the activity aims to equip LGUs with the necessary tools to enhance their efficiency and accountability towards creating responsive, inclusive, and well-governed local communities in the province.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Albay Provincial Office, through its Cluster II Operations Office, successfully conducted the Collaboration Activity with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Camalig last February 23, 2026.

The initiative served as a platform for engaging elected officials and functionaries while fostering partnerships in the effective implementation of DILG programs, projects, and activities (PPAs). It is designed to support LGUs in improving their governance performance across various sectors. With a strong focus on capacity-building, technical guidance, and knowledge-sharing, the activity aims to equip LGUs with the necessary tools to enhance their efficiency and accountability.

The activity provided local leaders with a collaborative space to discuss governance challenges, exchange strategies, and explore innovative solutions for more transparent, effective, and community-driven leadership. Through interactive discussions and expert insights, the activity reinforced the LGU's commitment to good governance, public accountability, and sustainable development.

𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 𝐀𝐋𝐁𝐀𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐎 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐍

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Albay Provincial Office in partnership with Cluster II Operations Office successfully conducted the Collaboration Activity with LGU Ligao City and LGU Guinobatan last February 20, 2026 marking another significant step toward strengthening collaboration between national and local government units.

The activity highlighted presentation of the latest performance assessment result in various flagship programs such as Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA), Peace and Order Council (POC) Performance Audit, Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit and Awards, Status of LGU’s thematic plans, and Status of locally funded projects of the LGU wherein local officials were able to identify both strengths and areas for improvement. More importantly, the activity encouraged LGU leaders and functionaries to reaffirm their commitment to good governance and to outline strategic actions moving forward.

Beyond performance review, the interfacing also opened meaningful dialogue between DILG and LGUs which provided an avenue to surface challenges, exchange feedback, and explore opportunities for collaboration, capacity-building, and enhanced support mechanisms.

As the initiative continues to roll out across Albay, DILG remains steadfast in its mission to foster stronger partnerships with LGUs, ensuring more responsive, transparent, and effective public service delivery for every Albayanos.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The DILG Albay Provincial Office successfully concluded 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗗𝗔𝗥: 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗚𝗨 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮 at the Proxy Hotel on November 25, 2025.

This awarding ceremony is an annual celebration that recognizes the outstanding accomplishments, innovations, and steadfast dedication of Local Government Units in the Province of Albay.

In attendance were Hon. Governor Noel E. Rosal, DILG Provincial Director Rebecca O. Britanico, and esteemed officials from partner agencies, including the Philippine Army, BJMP Albay, PNP-Albay, BFP-Albay, PRAI-CSO-Albay Chapter, PDEA-Albay, and representatives from the Provincial Government of Albay.

Ultimately, this ceremony highlights the importance of good local governance, highlighting the value of solidarity and shared responsibility in improving public service in the province. By recognizing the achievements of Local Government Units, we strengthen the spirit of cooperation and collaboration that is essential in delivering quality services to our communities.
