DSWD6 SLP, NIA empower program participants in Aklan through financial literacy, disaster resiliency training

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), in partnership with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), conducted capacity-building training for Program Convergence Budgeting (PCB) participants from the municipalities of Makato and Numancia, Aklan.

The training focused on financial literacy and disaster resiliency and readiness, which were integrated into the participants’ business plans as part of their preparedness for potential hazards.

NIA identified the beneficiaries in 2024 and assisted in their social preparation, while SLP continues to provide training to strengthen their livelihood capabilities./Glory Mae Panase
