Aklan MRFC

The Provincial Mine Rehabilitation Fund Committee of Aklan through the Aklan Environment and Natural Resources Office (AKENRO) in partnership with the Aklan Sand and Gravel Association Inc. (ASQOAI) and its permit holders in the Province of Aklan launched the 2nd Year and first ever River clean -up drive activity in line with this year’s Environment Month with the theme: Ending Global Plastic Pollution” PLASTIKALIKASAN 2025 :Mina at Kalikasan, Sama-samang Solusyon para sa Plastik na Polusyon,”on June 17, 2025 at Sitio Libtong, Brgy. Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan.

This activity shall serve as a long-term clean-up program for the mining industry aiming to curtail plastic waste generation. The mining industry recognizes the critical role it plays in promoting sustainability and addressing the plastic waste crisis not only within its operational areas but also across host and neighboring communities.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the volunteers from the Provincial Government of Aklan, Barangay Council of Brgy. Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan, Philippine National Police, DENR-Kalibo ,mining permittees, and other volunteers from other stakeholders who joined in this activity.

The PMRFC-Aklan conducted a General Assembly Meeting for the Permittees of CSAG/ISAG and Quarry Operators of Aklan last April 08, 2025 to discuss the following agenda :
1.Approved Guidelines on the Social Development and Management Program- Livelihood Development Program -SDMP-LDP , 2.Updated Standard Costing for the AEPEP ;
3.Increase for MTF maintaining balance and other concerns related to the PMRFC.

This General Assembly Meeting aims to provide knowledge and educate the Permit holders Active and Applicant for it's Compliances duly manage by the Provincial Mine Rehabilitation Fund Committee-Aklan.

The Aklan Sand & Gravel/Quarry Permittees held it's Conference last October 24, 2024 at Latte Coffee Cafe ,Kalibo,Aklan with theme:

"Understanding Laws, Regulations and Ordinance pertaining to Mining Operations such as Sand and Gravel, Commercial/Industrial and Ordinary Earth Quarry and other Mineral products "

Thank you so much for all the attendees particularly to the permittes who sponsored this event .This event is in collaboration with the AKENRO-PMRB and PMRFC respectively. We would like also to extend our gratitude to our invited speakers especially the Bureau of Internal Revenue-Kalibo branch, The Mines and Geoscience Regional Office 6 and the Environmental Management Bureau Regional Office VI, without you this Conference wouldn't be happen.

PMRFC-Aklan conducted 2nd Regular Meeting last October 22, 2024 and the first ever participation of the applicants for AEPEP Deliberation.

11th Regional Summit last August 28-30, 2024 at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City, Iloilo with the theme: "Strengthening Functions and Bridging Gaps of MRFCs and P/CMRBs for an Environmentally Sustainable and Socially Responsible Mining Industry." The PMRFC-Aklan and PMRB Aklan joined the said event.

This summit aimed on further strengthening the linkages and coordination across all the P/MRFCs and P/CMRBs in the region through knowledge-sharing and open discussions relating to operational issues and concerns that hinder harmonization and standardization of existing laws, rules and regulation relative to mineral and mining ventures in each province.

The convention underscored the critical responsibility and role of the P/MRFCs and P/CMRBs in promoting and upholding safe and responsible mining practices in the region.

In connection to the Earth Day Celebration the Provincial Government of Aklan in partnership with DENR-MGB Region 6 and with the Sand and Gravel Quarry Operators Association launched the activity entitled: PLASTIKalikasan: Mining Communities Clean-up Program.

This program aims to curtail plastic pollution and bring about awareness on the proper disposal of plastic wastes.
