Love scout is slow romance but it will be a worthy drama to watch ♥️👌

I haven’t yet started Love Scout but just wanted to say, as someone who’s closer to 40 than 25, how much I appreciate that not only is Han Jimin over 40, she’s also older than Lee Junhyuk. I always look up the cast when I start a drama and more often than not, the ML is older than the FL, sometimes by 10 years or more.

This is obviously not a new phenomenon. The global entertainment industry has long decided that viewers, of the romance genre especially, prefer younger women in leading roles - perhaps partly a sad reality but also partly a very insidious perception/assumption on the part of companies that are of course often helmed by older men.

And it’s not just casting choice obviously. There just aren’t as many stories written about older women navigating lives beyond the first love/first job/first whatever. It sounds like Love Scout is adding to that count. Not only that but it blatantly subverts conventional gender roles? I’m so here for it and excited to dive in.
