This project is under the Philippine Youth Leadership Program (𝗣𝗬𝗟𝗣), a program sponsored by the US Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois, USA and in partnership with the University of Science and Technology of the Southern Philippines.

Philippine Youth Leadership Program (PYLP) Batch 19 delegates from Sulu : Mohaimer Jailani (SSC Lab High), Nur Hafizah Mohammad Zaidie (SCT) and Satrina Raja (SCT) paid a coordination meeting to the Youth Development Officer Jibs Ismael to lobby their proposed activity dubbed as "Project Kasambuhan".

The PYLP is an exchange program to the United States of America where students of different high schools are trained to become environmental advocates and peace-loving citizens. Apart from that, delegates of this program are required to have their project implemented when they are back to their home community .

In connection, Sulu Governor Abdusakur M. Tan provided an additional financial support to the project proponents for the implementation of their project.
