This November, as mandated by Republic Act No. 9512, we are observing the National Environmental Awareness Month to educate, and call the citizenry towards environmental conservation and ecological balance.

In line with this, the Lasallian Community Development Center (LCDC) will be launching a month-long online environmental campaign and contest. Please stay tuned to LCDC's page for further details and mechanics.

In Imus, Cavite, a green revolution is taking root. With urban growth rising, the need to bring balance through reforestation is more essential than ever. Enter the Cavite ReLeaf initiative, driven by first-year students from De La Salle - Dasmarinas, HRD11. They’re not just planting trees; 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚’𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒖𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉𝒚 𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒔𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎.

By engaging locals, prioritizing native trees like Binunga and Molave, and securing resources from businesses and government units, the project aims to plant 50 trees. This effort will significantly improve air quality, reduce flood risks, and restore biodiversity. Plus, educational programs ensure that everyone gets involved and feels a sense of ownership.

The benefits of reforestation extend far beyond the obvious environmental gains. Improved air quality, reduced flood risks, and restored biodiversity are just the beginning. The initiative also aims to create economic opportunities for local communities through activities such as eco-tourism and sustainable agriculture. Moreover, by involving community members, the project fosters environmental stewardship and a collective sense of responsibility towards nature.
