And I thought I'm tired,
until I witnessed the tatay tricycle driver take a long pause after I gave him my fare.

And I thought I'm tired, until I saw this sleeping student inside the jeepney hugging his backpack, trying to steal a nap from his short travel.

And I thought I'm tired, until I saw this waiter trying to fake a smile while serving unlimited rice to almost unlimited customers.

And I thought I'm tired, until I saw this sampaguita vendor in a nearby parking lot, trying to test his luck to make a sale even when it's almost midnight.

And I thought I'm tired.

And I am indeed tired. But it is not only me.

We. All. Are.

So let's be kind to one another.

Lately, I've noticed everybody looks OK until you eventually have a deep conversation with them. And then, you'll realize that, this is a sad generation of people struggling to survive through smiling faces and pretty pictures.
