"TALK. LISTEN. SAVE LIVES"
February 06, 2024, the Psychological Association of the Philippines-Junior Affiliates, held a seminar with a theme "Empowering Individuals and Communities Through Holistic Education and Counseling" the seminar delivered by the Resource Speaker Ma'am April Grace Tipangen-Kruk.
Despite its devastating consequences, su***de remains a whisper in our communities. Acknowledging its impact, actively promoting open communication, and investing in mental health resources. Remember, every conversation, every act of understanding, and every effort towards making mental health support accessible can be ripple in the opposite direction, pushing back against the tide of loss and creating a future where su***de no longer leaves its devastating mark.
The Resource Speaker once said,
"Even if you're mentally stable it doesn't mean you don't get to feel the loneliness and stress"
It's beautiful how you turn your defeats into lessons and fight even when you're down. You are not vulnerable. Becoming the person who continues to heal, even when it hurts, requires a tremendous amount of courage. Becoming the person who believes in the light, even when they can't see it, requires a great deal of self- courage.
Students shared their thoughts and experiences about the said agenda. The seminar had an insightful discussion on the importance of addressing the whole person, including their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, our keynote speaker shared valuable insights how to incorporate holistic practices into education and counseling.
We can help someone by simply listen to them and feel that they're valid. You are not alone in this kind of situation . Let us all spread love and appreciate one another.
