NEWS | Nacional discusses the integration of AI in teaching and learning
BOCAUE, Bulacan — June 4, 2026
John Francis Nacional, EdTech Director of RAKSOEd Philippines, discussed the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning during the JILCF Annual Teachers' Convention 2026, sharing how educators can utilize technology in the way they teach.
Nacional shared insights on how AI can be used to improve efficiency and enhance the teaching and learning experiences for both teachers and students in an increasingly digital educational landscape.
“The right use of AI is to make a better teaching experience for students and teachers,” he said.
Nacional added that AI is meant to work for educators rather than against them. He described it as a valuable tool that can transform teaching into a more creative and efficient process, while helping learners access resources and opportunities that support their academic growth.
The session encouraged teachers to explore the responsible use of technology in the classroom while maintaining meaningful teacher-student engagement.
The discussion provided educators with practical perspectives on incorporating AI into teaching practices to foster more effective and innovative learning environments.

NEWS I Gutierrez highlights teachers’ role in human-centered learning
BOCAUE, Bulacan — June 4, 2026
Albert A. Gutierrez MAEd-CI emphasized the importance of teachers in human-centered learning during his session, “Navigating Education 5.0: Humanized Education,” on day 2 of the JILCF Annual Convention 2026.
Gutierrez explained key concepts of Education 5.0 and how teachers can apply its principles inside the classroom, stressing that teaching practices must evolve alongside technology while keeping students’ needs at the center of instruction.
He noted that artificial intelligence and other digital tools are meant to enhance teaching practices and learning experiences, but they should never replace the guidance and presence of educators.
“The determination of being a Teacher 5.0 lies on how you conduct your instruction inside your classroom,” he said.
He added that effective teaching is defined by purposeful instruction where technology is integrated meaningfully and seamlessly, but the teacher remains central in guiding learning, setting direction, and fostering real human connection in the classroom.
Gutierrez underscored that while AI and digital tools are valuable in modern education, they must be used purposefully and with clear instructional direction. He reminded educators that technology alone cannot fulfill the role of a teacher, as effective learning still depends on guidance, empathy, and intentional teaching.
The session concluded with an emphasis on maintaining the balance between innovation and the irreplaceable role of educators in shaping learners.
