You can’t fake the emotion of a 50K or 100K finish. It takes a specific kind of talent to be in the right place at the exact right time to freeze that exhaustion and elation in a single frame. Brought on by the event management to capture the chaos, 𝘾𝙝𝙪𝙗𝙗𝙯 𝙋𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙮 delivered an unmatched visual standard to the City of Smiles Ultramarathon.

Thank you for the early call times, the miles logged with heavy gear, and for giving the entire field world-class documentation of their hardest-fought battles. A massive thank you from all of us for capturing our very own Binalbagan Runners Club out there pushing the pace—you made the squad look incredible in their element. Stellar work out on the road. 📸🔥

100 kilometers is where logic ends and pure willpower begins. On May 17th, 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐚 didn't just survive the distance at the 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑼𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒏; they commanded it. Earning 2nd Runner Up in the 50-59 category over 100K is a testament to the kind of durability that can only be built through years of quiet, unrelenting discipline.

Through the exhaustion and the darkest miles, the focus never faded. We are incredibly proud to celebrate this monstrous achievement. Massive congratulations, 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐬—you proved once again that age is just a metric, but grit is absolute!

100 kilometers. Let that sink in. Running this distance isn't just a race; it's a deeply personal conversation with yourself when everything hurts and the finish line is hours away. On May 17th, 𝐉𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 took on the 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑼𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒏, navigated the darkest parts of the course, and came out the other side. We are beyond proud to celebrate this incredible finish.

The air is different at the front of the pack. To take 1st Runner Up Overall at the 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑼𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒏 on May 17th meant surviving 50 kilometers on a razor's edge. 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐨 didn't just race; they set the standard. When the body screamed to stop, the mind said faster.

You don't just stumble into a 1st Runner Up finish in the fiercely competitive 40-49 category. You earn it in the dark, long before the gun ever goes off. On May 17th, 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐚 showed us what peak focus looks like at the 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑼𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒏.

Hitting the wall, breaking right through it, and leaving absolutely nothing in the tank. A massive congratulations to a relentless athlete!

Fearless. That’s the only word for what we saw on May 17th. At an age where most are just finding their footing in the sport, 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚 took on the brutal 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑼𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒏 and walked away with 2nd Runner Up (18-29).

The conditions were heavy, but the mindset was bulletproof. Congratulations on a massive race, 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚—the new generation of ultra is here, and they aren't waiting in line.

50 kilometers of chaos, handled with the calm that only experience can bring. On May 17th, 𝐉𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬 executed an absolute masterclass in patience to take 2nd Runner Up (50-59) at the 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑼𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒏.

When the heat broke and the course got heavy, they just locked in and went to work. The work is never truly done, but today, we celebrate a hard-earned podium. Congratulations, Kagawad!

The marathon is a test. The ultra is a completely different beast. On May 17th, 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐛𝐞 crossed the 50K finish line at the 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝑼𝒍𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒏 and proved they belong in the deep water.

Every step past 42.2km is uncharted territory, and you owned every single one of them. The early mornings and long grinds paid off. Huge congratulations on an epic finish! Time to recover, rebuild, and reload.
