The House of Representatives elected an 11-member prosecution panel that will handle the expected impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte once the Senate convenes as an impeachment court. The team includes Reps. Gerville Luistro, Chel Diokno, Leila de Lima, and eight other lawmakers, with six of them also serving in the previous impeachment proceedings in 2025. The move comes despite the Supreme Court of the Philippines ruling last year that the earlier impeachment against Duterte was unconstitutional.

Ronald dela Rosa became emotional on Tuesday as he appealed to Bongbong Marcos not to surrender him to the International Criminal Court in connection with the crimes against humanity case tied to former president Rodrigo Duterte. The ICC confirmed it had ordered dela Rosa’s arrest as one of Duterte’s alleged “co-perpetrators” in the controversial anti-drug campaign case. He was also ordered to appear before the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group at Camp Crame on May 14, with possible indirect contempt charges if he fails to comply without valid reason.
