CIDG NEUTRALIZES 10 DAWLAH ISLAMIYA- MAUTE GROUP (DI-MG) TERRORISTS IN LANAO DEL SUR ARMED ENCOUNTER

In compliance with the focused program thrust of the Chief of the Philippine National police Police, PGEN JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ JR, to sustain the campaign against terrorism, the CIDG intensified its operations nationwide.

On April 17, 2026 from 1:05 AM to 9:00 AM, the CIDG Regional Field Unit Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (CIDG RFU BAR) together with the CIDG Cotabato City Field Unit; DI MAPIO; PNP Special Action Force, Philippine Army, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA-10) and territorial police units, conducted a manhunt operation in Brgy. Banga Pantar, Marantao, Lanao del Sur against accused and who have standing warrants of arrest for Murder, Frustrated Homicide, Homicide, and Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention, respectively.

The group is allegedly sowing fears in the community through terroristic activities, they are allegedly responsible in crimes and ambush that claimed lives of soldiers and other government forces in the area. The group remained a significant threat to the peace and security of the Bangsamoro people.

A report that reached PMGEN Robert AA Morico II, the Director of CIDG stated that upon the approach of the operating teams in the hideout of the accused, they were greeted with heavy burst of fires from numerous unlawful aggressors.

The operating teams necessitates to defend themselves, they returned fire to repel the lethal attack of the unlawful aggressors that resulted in armed encounter and unfortunate neutralization of ten (10) members of the Dawlah Islamiya-Maute Group (DI-MG) - including the subjects of the arrest warrants and , along with four males and four females.

During the clearing operations, the Team recovered four light weapons - two M16 rifles, one M4 rifle, one M1 garand rifle, and one caliber 38 revolver; one hand gr***de; and several improvised explosive device (IED) components.

The CIDG leadership commends PLTCOL Niño Lope M Briones, the Officer- In- charge of CIDG Regional field Unit Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (CIDG BAR) and CIDG Cotabato City Field Unit led by PLTCOL Eugene A Balugo, and all the joint operating units for the remarkable well coordinated and intel-driven accomplishment. The neutralization of the leader and sub-leader is a major blow to the DI-MG operational capabilities in the region.

By removing these high-powered fi****ms and their handlers from circulation, we have pre-emptively prevented future acts of terror and stopped a cell directly responsible for the senseless killing of our soldiers. We remain unyielding in our mission to dismantle every threat to national security. The CIDG, alongside our partners in the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines will continue to ensure that the Bangsamoro region and the entire nation remain safe and secure for all Filipinos, stated PMGEN Morico II.

PBB PARA SA MGA KUWALIPIKADONG PNP PERSONNEL, ILALABAS NA!

Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na kilalanin ang mga kawani ng gobyerno para sa kanilang sipag at husay sa serbisyo publiko, inihayag ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang mga paghahanda para sa pagrelease ng Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) para sa lahat ng kuwalipikadong personnel ng PNP para sa Fiscal Year 2023.

Kumpirmado ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) na aprubado na at nailabas na ang pondo sa pamamagitan ng Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) — isang malaking hakbang papunta sa aktwal na distribusyon ng hinihintay na bonus.

Ayon sa PNP Finance Service, tinatapos na rin nila ang Fiscal Directive na magsisilbing gabay sa maayos, wasto, at transparent na payout. Kapag ito ay naaprubahan, ipo-post na rin ang opisyal na iskedyul ng payout sa mga regular na information channels ng Finance Service.

Ayon kay Acting Chief PNP PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., ang PBB ay simbolo ng pagkilala sa sakripisyo at dedikasyon ng mga pulis sa kanilang araw-araw na tungkulin.

“Ang Performance-Based Bonus ay patunay ng sipag, integridad, at propesyonalismo ng bawat pulis. Ang inisyatibong ito ng Pangulo ay nagbibigay inspirasyon sa amin upang mas lalo pang paghusayin ang aming serbisyo para sa taumbayan,” ani PLTGEN Nartatez.

Dagdag pa ni PNP Spokesperson PBGEN Randulf T. Tuaño, ginagawa ng PNP ang lahat upang maging maayos at mabilis ang proseso ng pagbibigay ng bonus.

“Asahan ng ating mga kapulisan na ang kanilang karapat-dapat na insentibo ay maibibigay sa tamang oras. Ito ay pagkilalang nararapat sa kanilang patuloy na paglilingkod at katapatan sa tungkulin,” pahayag ni PBGEN Tuaño.

Ang PBB ay bahagi ng performance-based incentive system ng pamahalaan na nagbibigay-gantimpala sa mga kawani na nagpakita ng kahusayan, disiplina, at malasakit sa serbisyo—ayon sa PNP Focused Agenda on Morale and Welfare na layuning itaas ang moral at kagalingan ng ating mga tauhan.
