The celebration of Science Week 2025 at Balagtas National Agricultural High School concluded with an inspiring and joy-filled Awarding Ceremony held on October 24. 🎉✨

Leading the celebration with our dedicated 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒂’𝒂𝒎 𝑬𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒂 𝑪𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒂’𝒂𝒎 𝑨𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒚𝒏 𝑫𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒐, whose continuous support and guidance made this event truly meaningful. 🙌💚

A huge appreciation to our passionate Science teachers — and of course special thanks to our ever-dedicated 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒃 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒓 𝑴𝒂’𝒂𝒎 𝑴𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒖 𝑭𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒐 and the enthusiastic 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒃 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒔 for their hard work and leadership that made Science Week a memorable success! 🧠💡

🌱 Bananas are berries, but strawberries aren’t! 🍌🍓

Here’s why: In science, the definition of a berry isn’t the same as how we use it in everyday life. Botanically speaking, a berry is a fruit that develops from a single o***y of a flower and contains soft flesh with seeds inside. By this definition, bananas, tomatoes, grapes, and even eggplants are all considered berries.

Strawberries, however, don’t fit this rule. They come from a flower with multiple ovaries, which makes them an aggregate fruit. Also, their seeds are on the outside, unlike true berries that keep their seeds inside. So while we think of strawberries as the “classic berry,” in science, bananas are the real deal!
