COLLEGE NEWS | BSCS 3rd year students passes PhilNITS FE exam

BS in Computer Science (BSCS) students Steven Andrei S. Vestil and Kyle Yuan l. Uy, passed the international PhilNITS Fundamental Information Technology Engineer (FE) exam, held in the University of Saint Lasalle, on Apr. 26.

The PhilNITS FE is a test that aligns with Japan's Information-Technology Promotion Agency to verify the core technical knowledge and practical skills required to design, develop, and implement information system.

The College of Computing Studies (CCS) Lasallian Champion (LChamp) James Neil Traigo reigned as 6th runner-up (RU) during the Animo Grand Cup (AGC) 2026 with the theme "Mythic Soiree", held in Santuario de La Salle on May 22.

With Traigo on the 6th RU, the College of Nursing, Yu An Log College of Business and Accountancy, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, College of Education, and College of Tourism and Hospitality were awarded as Champion, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th RU, respectively.

"My LChamp journey was challenging but fun [because] I learned a lot along the way. I already expected my placement since I wasn’t able to finish the last two modules, but I still felt proud and happy to place 6th. I'm also very thankful sa inyo tanan [...] for the support, memories, and experience," expressed Traigo when asked about his LChamp journey.

Awards recognizing the performance of each college councils and its student officers were also announced in the event and CCS was able to garner the following awards:

Emergent College Council Award - CCS
Outstanding Elected Officer - Samuel Apua
Outstanding Batch Representative - Dante Filasol Jr.
