The awarding ceremony of the WorldSkills Competition Cagayan 2026 was formally conducted on March 24, 2026, recognizing the exemplary performance of competitors across various skills areas.
The ceremony was graced by Ashary A. Banto, Regional Director of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region II, who delivered a meaningful message. In his address, Director Banto commended the participants for their dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence, underscoring the vital role of technical skills in regional and national development.
During the program, winners in the different skills competitions were formally conferred their awards, signifying their competence and readiness to represent the province in higher-level competitions. These distinguished individuals will advance to the upcoming WorldSkills Competition โ Region II scheduled later this year.
The awarding ceremony marked the culmination of the two-day competition and reaffirmed TESDAโs continuing efforts to promote technical excellence and develop a globally competitive workforce.

The WorldSkills Competition Cagayan 2026 officially opened on March 23, 2026, launching a two-day event that runs until March 24, 2026 at the Aparri Polytechnic Institute, the host institution. The opening program gathered competitors and technical experts from various institutions and schools across the province of Cagayan.
More than a competition, the event serves as a platform to showcase the skills and competencies of participants in various trade areas. It aims to identify and select the best among the best who will represent the province in the upcoming WorldSkills Competition 2026 Region II.
Participants expressed enthusiasm and readiness to demonstrate their expertise, reflecting their commitment to excellence in technical-vocational education. Organizers emphasized that the activity promotes industry standards, strengthens collaboration among institutions, and prepares skilled individuals for higher levels of competition.

In reference to Proclamation No. 1189 issued by the Office of the President, Friday, March 20, 2026 is declared a Regular Holiday throughout the country in observance of Eidโl Fitr (Feast of Ramadan).
In line with this, please be informed that the Compressed Workweek Arrangement is temporarily suspended from March 16 to March 19, 2026.
During this period, office operations shall follow the regular work schedule of eight (8) hours per day, as follows:
โข Monday: 8:00 AM โ 5:00 PM
โข Tuesday to Thursday: may start as early as 7:00 AM and end as late as 6:00 PM
The Compressed Workweek Arrangement will resume on March 23, 2026.

Staff of Aparri Polytechnic Institute (API) conducted a benchmarking activity on March 04โ05, 2026 at the Jacobo Z. Gonzales Memorial School of Arts and Trades and the TESDA Regional Training Center โ NCR.
The activity aimed to benchmark best practices in facilities management, instructional strategies, implementation of the System for TVET Accreditation and Recognition (STAR) Program, Seal of Integrity, and processes related to Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) Accreditation. The visit provided the delegation with valuable insights that may contribute to strengthening institutional systems and enhancing the quality of technical-vocational education and training services of the institute.

Employees of Aparri Polytechnic Institute (API) participated in the Lens and Lines Seminar-Workshop on Writing and Ethical Reporting initiated by BluePrint held on February 19, 2026 at the API Hotel.
Dr. Mark John M. Tamanu served as Subject Matter Expert for โWrite it Right: Feature Writing and Ethical Reporting,โ while Dr. Jerome A. Billarina discussed โCapturing Truth: News Writing and Photojournalism.โ The activity included discussions and workshop sessions to assess participantsโ learning and strengthen their writing and visual reporting skills.

In pursuance of Memorandum Circular No. 114 issued by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on March 6, 2026, encouraging government agencies to adopt a compressed work schedule as part of the national energy-saving initiative, the TESDA Aparri Polytechnic Institute will implement a 4-Day Work Week.
This adjustment aims to support energy conservation efforts while ensuring the continuous delivery of quality services and training to our stakeholders.
