Feast of Pentecost commonly known as Shavuot in Jewish tradition, is a biblical feast that commemorates the giving of the Torah to the Israelites at Mount Sinai. It is celebrated 50 days after Passover and marks the end of the grain harvest in Israel. The celebration includes special prayers, readings from the Torah, and the eating of dairy foods. In Christian tradition, Pentecost is also known as the birth of the Church when the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles, empowering them to spread the message of Jesus Christ to the world. It is observed 50 days after Easter. Both traditions share the theme of receiving divine revelation and guidance.
