When maternity care providers guilt trip parents I cringe for them. ‘Are you sure you want to risk the health of your baby?’ ‘The baby could ____ insert here worst case scenario if you don’t…, are you sure you want that?’, ‘could end up in NICU’.
The parents who’ve done everything to prepare feel pushed into a corner. Ao they go with what they’ve been ‘advised’ because they felt they simply had no other choice.
Hear this, you as a parent would be the most concerned about your baby’s health to make informed and powerful choices.
So ‘no don’t say that’. Come work with me if you want to know how to work with your care providers in a collaborative way. Not manipulative.
