Mobile Library South and East is working with the fabulous team at the Papatoetoe Library to be a collection point for Jammies in June 2026.
If you would like to donate a pair of winter pyjamas for a child in need this winter you can drop them off to the mobile library at any of our regular mobile community library stops. We will then drop them off at the Papatoetoe Library every Friday morning.
For more information about Jammies in June and all the different ways you can get involved - visit the Middlemore Foundation website https://www.jammiesforjune.org.nz/
Please feel free to drop off your jammies to this library!

The murder at world’s end by Ross Montgomery (crime historical)
Catalogue link: https://bit.ly/4r71hFJ (book) https://bit.ly/3O7rRA7 (AudioCD and eAudiobook)
It’s 1910 and Stephen Pike, freshly released from borstal, has been offered employment at Tithe Hall – a remote tidal island in Cornwall that is cut off from the world when the tide is high. The only problem is, Stephen has arrived when the house is being sealed to protect the inhabitants from the approaching Halley’s Comet, on the orders of Viscount. Lord Conrad Stockington-Welt agrees to hire Stephen and immediately assigns him the task of looking after Miss Decima Stockingham, who besides being the Viscount’s Aunt is also a foul-mouthed force of nature that has no concerns for social niceties. When Lord Stockington-Welt is found murdered in his study suspicion seems to naturally fall on Stephen, even though most people in the house don’t know his story. Luckily for Stephen, Miss Decima has taken a shine to him and she is determined to get to solve the murder before the incompetent Inspector Jarvis (from Scotland Yard no less) arrests Stephen for the crime.

A is for … a rabbit’s tale by Jackie Hosking and Lucinda Gifford (picture book)
Catalogue link: https://bit.ly/4kKuzrH
In a pet shop a rabbit is for sale, waiting for a child or family to buy them and cuddle them. When a child does just that and takes the rabbit home it creates a bit of a challenge because everyone loves rabbits and sharing can be hard. This is a delightfully (and rabbity) alphabet book with a difference that will help with learning the alphabet and learning to share – so it’s a win win kind of picture book.
