🌿 Thank you, Lyttelton 🌿

Another beautiful morning at the market — thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, a sample, or to take something home.

It was so great to see so many of you trying our NEW Horopito Spiced Hot Chocolate 🍫🌿 — and hearing your thoughts on that warming, peppery kick.

We’re always grateful for the support and the conversations — it’s what makes these mornings so special.

See you again soon 💛

What a sky this evening ✨

Framed by this wind-shaped mountain ribbonwood — shaped over years by weather, time, and the wild Akaroa winds.

Moments like this are at the heart of everything we do… slowing down, noticing, and reconnecting with the forest around us.

🌿 Kānuka & Forest Regeneration 🌿

Kānuka is often one of the first to return.

After land has been cleared or disturbed, kānuka establishes quickly — creating shelter, improving soil, and protecting the ground from harsh sun and wind.

Over time, this allows slower-growing native species to take hold beneath it. The forest begins to rebuild, layer by layer.

When we harvest our kānuka, it’s in tiny quantities from a large and varied selection of young bushes of kānuka in lots of different areas— always with care, and always with the bigger picture in mind.

Because it’s not just about what we take, but how the forest continues to grow.

🌿 Looking up 🌿

There’s something about standing beneath the forest canopy and taking a moment to pause.

Layers of life above, roots and networks below — all quietly working together.

It’s in places like this that Forest Infusions begins.

✨ New Product Launch ✨

We’re so excited to introduce something new from Forest Infusions…

Horopito Spiced Hot Chocolate 🍫🌿

A rich, comforting hot chocolate infused with native New Zealand horopito — bringing a warming, peppery spice with a gentle kick. It’s a little bit different, a little bit special, and perfect for the cooler days ahead.

Blended with Fairtrade organic cocoa and panela sugar, it’s crafted to be as thoughtful as it is delicious.

Like all our products, it’s handcrafted in small batches here in Akaroa, inspired by the flavours of our local landscape.

It’s already been a hit at the markets, and we can’t wait for you to try it for yourself.

Available now. Online at https://www.forestinfusions.co.nz 💛

🍄 Fungi & the Forest 🌿

Beneath the forest floor, there’s a hidden world at work.

Fungi form vast underground networks, connecting trees and plants in ways we’re only just beginning to understand. Often called the “wood wide web,” these networks help share nutrients, support growth, and keep the forest in balance.

In many ways, fungi are the quiet caretakers of the ecosystem — breaking down organic matter, recycling nutrients, and creating the conditions for new life to flourish.

When we harvest our kānuka, we’re always mindful of this delicate system. Healthy soil, thriving fungi, and diverse plant life all play a role in the quality and character of what we gather.

It’s a reminder that every cup of tea starts long before the leaves are picked — it begins in the living, breathing forest.,
