Happy Sonam Lhosar! πŸŽ‰πŸŒΈ
As the Tamang community in Nepal welcomes the Lunar New Year, Sonam Lhosar 2862 brings a beautiful spirit of renewal and hope. This cherished celebration invites us all to embrace new beginnings, release what no longer serves us, and offer prayers for peace, good health, and prosperity in the year ahead.

More than just a festival, Sonam Lhosar embodies cultural identity and unity. Families gather at monasteries (gumbas) for sacred rituals, don vibrant traditional attire, and fill the air with music and dance. Tables overflow with shared meals as communities come together in joy and reverence. Following the 12-animal zodiac cycle, each year brings its own symbolic energyβ€”a reminder of both change and continuity in our lives.

🌞πŸͺ” Happy Chhath Parva! πŸͺ”πŸŒž

Today, we celebrate Chhath, the festival of the Sun God (Surya) β€” symbol of life, light, and renewal.
According to Hindu mythology, Chhath is dedicated to Surya and his wife Usha, who bless devotees with health, prosperity, and longevity. It’s believed that Karna, the son of Surya from the Mahabharata, was the first to perform this puja in gratitude to his divine father.

In Nepal, especially in the Terai region, devotees observe a four-day fast, maintaining purity, offering arghya (water) to the rising and setting sun, and standing in rivers or ponds in deep devotion.

May the rising sun of Chhath bring warmth, wellness, and light to every home. πŸŒžπŸ™
