Strengthening Communities, Empowering Girls: CCEP's Mid-term M&E !
Support Nepal, in collaboration with Plan International Nepal successfully conducted a mid-term monitoring and evaluation of the Community-Centered Empowerment Project (CCEP) in Kamala and Shahidnagar Municipalities of Dhanusha District.
The monitoring visit was led by a representative from the Social Welfare Council (SWC) along with the Plan International Nepal Regional Office, Janakpur team. The team held productive discussions with Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Ward Chairpersons, and municipal department heads at Kamala Municipality to assess project progress, effectiveness, and the positive changes brought to the community. As part of the field visit, the team observed the Stimulation Corner at the Health Post in Ward No. 2, Machi (Kamala Municipality), supporting early childhood development for children under the age of three years. The team also interacted with Campaign of Change (CoC)s, which includes adolescent girls and young women aged 16–20 years at Ward No. 7, Dhabauli (Shahidnagar Municipality) to gather first-hand feedback and witness the project’s impact at the grassroots level. This visit reflected strong collaboration, shared commitment, and encouraging progress toward empowering girls, nurturing young children, and building resilient communities.

Building a brighter future starts early!
Responsive caregiving, adequate nutrition, early learning opportunities, and ensuring health, safety, and security are an essential component of the Early Childhood Development (ECD). Local government plays an essential role to ensure that each children have equal and adequate access to these crucial elements for EDC. In response to this need, Sahidnagar Municipality, of Dhanusha District hosted a workshop to develop its very own Early Childhood Development (ECD) Strategy in collaboration with Support Nepal, Seto Gurans Bal Bikash Sewa, and Plan International Nepal
Bringing together local leaders, ECD and early grade teachers, health workers, Female Community Health Volunteer (FCHVs), President of Health Mother Group and community members, the workshop created a shared platform for dialogue, learning, and collective planning to ensure a strong start for children from pregnancy to 8 years of age.
The workshop included Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and interactive learning sessions, enabling participants to reflect on local realities and priorities. Discussions highlighted the importance of nurturing care, responsive parenting, and safe, stimulating environments for young children and special focus was given to sensory development and its role in early learning, reinforcing the idea that children learn best through play, interaction, and exploration.

Shared Learning for Shared Vision!
To drive positive change, it is essential to strengthen leadership, good governance, and advocacy skills, empowering young people to actively contribute to social transformation and the Sustainable Development Goals. With this vision, Support Nepal in collaboration with Plan International Nepal conducted a “Youth Networks Institutional Capacity Building Training” at Tinkoriya, Bidheha Municipality.
The participants consisted of Youth Club members from Kamala Municipality and Sahidnagar municipality. This event served as a platform for these young leaders to exchange ideas and learnings for sustainable growth. Through the training, participants gained improved confidence and understanding of local governance, enhanced planning and coordination skills, stronger advocacy abilities for youth participation, and increased collaboration for collective community impact.

Youth as Agents of Peace!
Recognizing the incredible potential of youth to shape a more peaceful societies, Support Nepal, in coordination with KURVE Wustrow, organized an Oratory Competition at Shriram Secondary School of Matihani Municipality, Mahottari and Shankar Secondary School of Dhanauji Rural Municipality, Dhanusha.
This friendly competition provided an opportunity for students to hone their public-speaking skills while reflecting on the important role "Youths Role in Peacebuilding".
The students and the participants of this event shared how young people can contribute to ultimately create peaceful communities by promoting dialogue and establishing equality.

Celebrating Change!
Support Nepal in coordination with Plan International Nepal celebrates the Champions of Change-CoC's Graduation to Lead Equality in Dhanusha District. This journey of 18 months was full of continuous learning, reflection, and action. The CoC's Graduation Ceremony was celebrated in Kamala and Sahidnagar Municipalities, marking an inspiring milestone for our dedicated staff, facilitators, and over 100 adolescent girls, boys, and young women and men.
Throughout the journey, participants engaged in interactive sessions on Gender Equality & Positive Masculinity, Leadership & Empowerment, SRHR Education, Ending Child, Early & Forced Marriage, and Community Mobilization.
While celebrating this graduation ceremony, participants proudly reflected on their CoC journey and how it has positively changed their perspectives, helped gaining self-confidence, raising their voices for equality, and receiving strong support from their families and communities.
Together, these young Champions of Change are breaking barriers, promoting gender equality, and shaping a brighter, more inclusive future.
