I miss Inderøy today… On view is “Amongst friends”, some drawings, paintings, sculptures, videos… of all that can be understood as friendship.. if not all, then some of it…

When I was younger, I learnt from Bollywood that “love was friendship”, “pyaar Dosti hai” from my then favourite film, “Kuch Kuch hota hai”.. indirectly translated as “something something happens (inside)” ?? 🤣

Anyways, even though the film hints more on romantic love, than friendship love, the last 5 years have been phenomenal in helping me understand that love and heartbreak can be experienced through friendship as well..

When I was younger, Friendship bands was something special to me because of friendships day… it was a day to celebrate my connections with old and new people with a beaded or braided bracelet.. the sheer quantity of bracelets collected meant I have many friends ! Also this concept became popular because of this film… 👆

While Adult friendships tend to be a bit more complicated..… maybe friendship as a concept is not as complicated and maybe it’s the adults who are.. either ways what a blessing it is to meet your tribe and to love and be loved… but also what a curse to be in a connection that you have outgrown or one that pushes you down…

Just thought of sharing what’s on mind about this exhibition… so presenting the complexities and nuances of becoming and unbecoming friends…

This is from the opening day, and I am so happy that so many of you could join in, be there and participate in the exhibition.

Amongst friends, is an attempt to share the various changing landscapes of a friendship going through good, rocky, soft, cloudy , happy, dull moments… it’s about making friends and just as much about unmaking friends…

how to spot a good friendship from a not so good one ? Trust and distrust…Loving a friend vs falling in love with a friend…..Being happy together and being depressed together…….Venting to a friend……Friends as a life boat vs friends as a stormy sea…..

and my favourite - are my friends a big reflection of me ?

The exhibition consists of paintings done over the last few years reflecting the above, a special invitation to old and new friends with their sculptures, art books and creatures

AND a an site-specific installation titled “CIRCLE OF TRUST”, calling all known and unknown friends to come together, to eat candy, bead, talk, drink juice, talk a little more and then bead again, and hangout, be silly, be serious, laugh, don’t laugh, 🤭 totally up to you…

VM-kunstnere overtar GRÅNASEN ♥️🥹🫡

Yesterday, Cathrine and Elizabeth from .u.k_ungkunst organised SKI-VM artists visit to the FIS Nordic World Ski Championship ! And it was INCREDIBLE !

We wittnessed Norway bagging not one but many golds the same day ! And even though it was raining and snowing non-stop all day all night, it didn’t stop the thousands of people from showing up and supporting their favourite teams 🥹🫰♥️

Experiencing sports like this has been phenomenal.. and my favourite part has been learning about the Athletes and their stories which has been truly remarkable and moving.

Also in a remarkable turn off events, I am trusted with the electric ski pole of now 4 times World Ski Champion Johannes Høsflot Klæbo 😭😭by his parents Elisabeth and Haakon(as Per Marius’s suggestion).

Needless to say, I have named the pole Johannes and I will be taking very good care of it.

The day was full of revelations and with every revelation I got a better understanding of life, people, art,snow, ski, Trondheim and the rest of the world.
