Just received news this afternoon from one of the students whom I coached for his final thesis and defense in the last few months...he had a 8.9 for his thesis and a 9.5 for his defense with a final grade of 9.0

Students doing their role play in the Sales Techniques workshop, a module I developed for the Marketing and Sales Specialisation; honing their professional selling skills for their final sales pitch in a few weeks time. Social-distancing measure is observed.

About a month ago, I was approached by the principal lecturer of the Marketing & Sales team to be part of the curriculum design team for their specialisation. She would like me to help design, develop and coordinate the Sales Techniques module for the next academic year via online delivery. About two weeks ago, I gave her my entire module road map, the topics, the mode of delivery by lecturer and students, the hours needed by lecturer and students before, during and after workshop...over a 8-week period. All these were done from a sketchy idea that was written by a person (from another university) who was supposed to deliver this module but could not commit and another colleague who left the team and moved to another programme. When we had our colleague from learning and design to peruse my module design, she said it was well designed and there was constructive alignment to the module. For online delivery, do the need-to-haves; make it self-directed learning and allocate for extra hours for teachers because there is a tendency to over-run the planned hours, as experienced from my Strategic Management module which just ended.

Just completed my teaching module for Strategic Management to the fast-track 3-Yr International Business programme. I was tasked to be the module coordinator for this subject and with the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the closure of university campus, I had to rethink and redesign the methods of delivery, the collaboration approach towards group work, consultation sessions and the deliverables from students over a period of 8 weeks. According to my colleague, he thought that I had planned, instructed and delivered the module well for a first timer. Looks liked this is going to be my 'baby' moving forward as I looked at my schedule for next academic year.

The Programme Director of my International Business programme had a video conference with me last Tuesday morning. He asked me if I would like to take on the role of Regional Coordinator for Middle-east, South Asia and the ASEAN regions in establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with universities and businesses in these regions in the next academic year onwards. He affirmed me that I'm suited for this role after I organised the business trip to Dubai last November with him and another colleague.
