New writing from G. Bruce Boyer, coming soon in our journal.

"Today, in an age of literally indestructible synthetic fibers, the sang froid of pure linen is a point of one-upmanship, and the insouciance that says you're too cool to care. And if you feel a white linen suit may be a bit too striking, have it in a pair of trousers and sports jacket. Or better, have the suit in to***co brown, or pale olive green, or navy blue, each particularly dashing with a light blue shirt."

23 May 1876. My great-great-grandfather founded A. Besnard 150 years ago today. The garments you see here are some of his work, court uniforms now held in the collection at National Museum Paleis het Loo.

I revived Besnard about eight years ago, in his name. We're a young company carrying an old intention. The intention to make clothing that is thoughtfully designed and well made.

To everyone who has supported us since then, thank you.

Our new Spring/Summer lookbook is now live on our website.

We spent a day in Le Grand Est, France, at a château where the mornings were unhurried and the afternoons were slower still. We had breakfast in the courtyard, lunch in a nearby village, and joined the locals for a game of jeu de boules. The Champagne countryside was the backdrop for our spring-summer lookbook.
