Working on the final iteration of the Cosine speaker. Its parametric form is derived from Chladni figures, sound resonance patterns which I have a particular fascinated with. I used the mathematics of vibrational surface modes that cause the Chladni figures to generate the patterns and the speaker shape using Grasshopper for Rhino. With only curved surfaces its shell like hollow shape allows for dealing with acoustics and resonances efficiently. It’s optimised for the Beyma coaxial speaker driver 8CX300Fe. Getting more into parametric and generative tools and approaches to speaker housings.
